Designed by registered building designer Hugh Findlay from Unique City Homes, the featured project has four bedrooms, two studies, three bathrooms, a huge rumpus room, a billiard room with a bar, a gym, and a kitchen with a butler’s pantry.
The clients also sought concealed service areas, which Unique City Homes fulfilled, positioning them down one side of the home behind the garage. Spanning almost 500m² , the home also has various environmental features including low ‘E’ glass to reduce energy loss, water tanks, a waste treatment plant, and a 6-star energy rating.
With a modern design and considered use of materials and textures, the home has a striking street appeal and eyecatching, varied rooflines. It was important that the house – which is on the last waterfront block in the area – stood out from the crowd and maximised the views of the water. An open-plan living and dining area that opens onto a pavilion space takes advantage of the outlook to the bay islands, while the home was positioned at the rear of the block to enhance the waterfront views. Also with the views in mind, Unique City Homes provided two levels of living areas with 2400mm high stacker doors that open onto the upper and lower verandas.
Dulux paint that matched the owners’ colour scheme was used, as well as Weathertex cladding, face brick and Custom Orb Colorbond roofing, enhancing the home’s impressive aesthetic qualities. Unique City Homes and Unique Country Homes work all along the Gold Coast, inner city Brisbane, the south side of Brisbane, and west all the way to Ipswich.
