“The design brief was to deliver a travel centre with passenger vehicle, truck facilities, a food court, and a standalone fast food offer that interfaces with the staging of the future development. The internal space of the food court was designed to be open and light. The client brief emphasised that the area be kept simple and low-maintenance. The design enabled the tenant’s signage and counter fit outs, highlighting the food retailers as the ‘heroes’ of the space.”
