Sublime Architectural Interiors
When responding to the brief for this project, sublime architectural interiors set out to create a functional and well- designed space that didn’t compromise on aesthetics.
The client was primarily looking for a kitchen that would not dominate the home. sublime architectural interiors employed clever design choices to achieve a uniform and refined appearance. horizontal and vertical surfaces have been finished with highly moisture-resistant Formica decorative laminate in ‘asphalt’ to create symmetry and balance, while the Laminex metaline splashback and kickboards in ‘reflections’ add sleek and modern accents.
Led downlights that are integrated into the overhead storage create a soft and welcoming atmosphere, while polished, blonde blackbutt floorboards add warmth and sheen to the largely cool-toned colour palette.
As this was an apartment project, special attention was paid to the provision of space and storage. drawers have been prioritised over cupboards for their usability and stowage capacity. the convenient appliance credenza also provides a useful hub when engaged, and blends easily into the background when idle.
To create seamless lines, sublime architectural interiors has foregone handles in favour of touch-open doors, drawers and cabinets. the freestanding island bench transitions smoothly into a smart, cantilevered breakfast bar, which gives the impression of multi-purpose cabinetry that feels and looks like furniture pieces.
The glossy smeg 90cm induction cooktop has been faultlessly incorporated into the island benchtop/breakfast bar to provide a space that is both communal and functional. a companion smeg 90cm oven was installed beneath the bench to maximise space.
