Fort Constructions
Built by Fort Constructions and designed by SOUL Interior Architecture, this modern four-level home makes the most of its surroundings. The Morningside site faces rural bushland from the front, and looks towards the Brisbane city skyline from the rear. The client wanted a spacious and contemporary home that maximised the diverse views. The house is situated on a sloping site, and has been cleverly designed to integrate seamlessly into the inclination of the land, while taking full advantage of the elevation. The home’s design adheres to the principles of reverse living, with the main bedroom and living areas located on the top levels, and all lesser-used rooms located below. This layout ensures the most frequently used spaces in the home also showcase the best views. The open-plan home features glossy hardwood flooring from Awesome Timber Floors and generously sized windows from Bradnam’s Windows & Doors. Contemporary elements can be seen throughout the property, including smoky floor-to-ceiling marble tiling in the bathroom, chrome accents in the kitchen and statement lights from Beacon Lighting.
All bedrooms are located towards the front of the house to maximise the tranquil bushland views. The peaceful vistas imbue each bedroom with a serene ambience, which means they are perfectly suited for rest and relaxation. A sheltered timber deck extends seamlessly from the upstairs living area and provides unobstructed panoramic views of Brisbane’s city skyline. This makes it the ideal spot for alfresco dining or casual entertaining. A second timber deck extends from the rear of the lower level, and features a floating staircase that connects to the backyard. The landscaping is minimalistic and unobtrusive, with an emphasis on respecting and complementing the surrounding environment. The inclusion of a solar-power system on the roof and a 5000L tank ensure the property is both sustainable and cost-effective. Fort Constructions built a sumptuous home that boasts spectacular views from every angle, while still providing a comfortable and homely atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy.
