Integrity New Homes

This timeless, 1920s Queenslander has been newly renovated by Integrity New Homes Brisbane. The homeowners wanted to modernise the original build but maintain its signature charm. Collaborating closely with the homeowners, Integrity New Homes Brisbane has created a warm, family home that is equal parts stylish and inviting.

It was important to the homeowners that the renovation created a welcoming atmosphere for their family and retained the quintessential features of the classic Queenslander design. Integrity New Homes Brisbane achieved this by stripping the worn aluminium cladding to reveal original weatherboards and accentuating the gabled roof and detailed timber fretwork. Offset with rich, navy and cream colours and a timber picket fence, the traditional charm of the home remains intact.

The home’s original entry featured a closed-in verandah; this was removed during the renovation to incorporate a generous, welcoming front porch and stepped entry. This stunning remodel choice opens up the entire home, establishing a direct connection between the front entrance and the living area.

The internal walls dividing the kitchen, living and dining areas were also removed to create an open-plan layout that flows seamlessly through to the rear of the property. The large bi-fold doors open onto a sunny, new deck that overlooks the spacious yard. As the property has a pitched roof rather than a trussed roof, the removal of the original load-bearing walls demanded the installation of support beams in the ceiling to maintain structural integrity.

One of the most impressive aspects of this project is the effective use of the existing space. The large, underutilised rumpus room has been split into two bedrooms, and the laundry that previously sat underneath the home has been reinstalled into the kitchen area behind closable doors.

In addition to these alterations, a new en suite was fitted with a floating counter and glass shower divider. The sleek main bathroom features a freestanding bathtub and ample counter and cabinet space. Effortless and elegant, both bathrooms require minimal up-keep.
