The owners of this impressive contemporary abode approached Leading Edge Builders with a set of architectural plans, which at the time were priced outside their budget, and a challenge: to construct a spacious, beautiful home on a steeply sloped block.

Working closely with Pillar Consulting architect Ivona Klasicki, Leading Edge Builders scaled back and redesigned the floor plan to better suit the needs of the homeowners, as well as their budgetary requirements.

The home’s interior features an eclectic mix of edgy, modern products and natural finishes, including Australian beech timber flooring, travertine-style tiles, glass and stainless steel.

The central hub of the living space is the large two-pack finished kitchen with adjoining lounge and dining space. The kitchen features an expansive island bench with a gorgeous crisp white stone benchtop and waterfall ends, which cascade beautifully to the floor, as well as inbuilt appliances and ample storage.

To complement the natural contour of the land, limited excavation works have been carried out. For example, the garage and driveway have been built on suspended concrete, held up by metal piers, which allow easy access to the home without interfering with the existing landscape.

The exterior of the home exudes modern contemporary coastal appeal, featuring James Hardie Hardiflex sheeting with button joints on the lower level, with a mixture of James Hardie Stria cladding and exterior sheeting on the upper level of the home’s fac?ade. The Zincalume corrugated roof completes the unique look and feel of the property, which blends seamlessly with its surrounds.
