Newman Building Contractors

Exuding historic character and traditional heritage style, this charming Queenslander home was restored by Newman Building Contractors and designed by Letitia E Designs. The project combines classic exteriors with modern, spacious floor plans without the slightest compromise on quality or style. Meticulous attention to detail was applied at every stage of the building process, and this is most evident when viewing the home’s old-world façade.

The equally impressive interior spaces showcase a splendid range of colours, finishes and furnishings. From the moment you step foot inside, you will immediately notice the home’s majestic grandeur and classic heritage appeal. Combining Queenslander architectural elements and contemporary interior design, the abode has a truly unique look. Gene Pokoj from Pride Home Designs was the draftsman for the project, which demonstrates exceptionalquality workmanship.

The clients’ brief requested a modern family-friendly home with large outdoor areas that would maximise the site’s orientation. A contemporary aesthetic was also requested, as well as high-quality finishes that would withstand many years of enjoyment and entertainment. The colonially inspired exterior was expertly crafted with heritage-style windows and spacious wraparound verandahs, which feature sublime tongue-and-groove hardwood flooring. The home is finished to perfection with aluminium balustrades, which are powder coated for easy maintenance, while still achieving a timber look.

The stunning stone island benchtop and matching splashback, up-to-the-minute living room wainscoting, elegant two-pack cabinetry and opulent light fittings add to the very pleasing quality of this home. Showcasing VJ timber lining, the coffered ceiling above the island bench adds character and depth to the room. The house features spacious living areas, which were designed to create a seamless transition between the indoors and the outdoors. There is also a great mix of both open spaces – which are perfect for larger-scale entertaining – more private areas in the home, while tall ceilings, and an extensive use of glass doors help flood the home with natural light and provide a spacious and inviting feel. The kitchen flows effortlessly into the living areas, which effectively double in size when opened onto the large undercover decks, which are located to the front and rear of dwelling. Accessed from French doors, the deck area maximises space and offers an irresistible place to eat, socialise and relax.
