Dall Designer Homes Project 1

This contemporary masterpiece was designed and built by Dall Designer Homes. The brief for the project was to create an open, well-ventilated family home that connected the indoors to the outdoors. Situated on a sloping site, the three-level home has been expertly designed to integrate seamlessly into the inclination of the land, while maximising views of the picturesque surrounds. With soaring 5.7m ceilings and large louvre windows, the spacious and sunny open-plan lower level feels more like an outdoor space than an indoor one. The living area features enormous bi-fold and stacker glass doors that open to the backyard and the alfresco dining area. The glass doors welcome plenty of ambient light, and create an effortless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The home’s orientation follows the principles of passive design, which ensures the living area retains plenty of heat during the cooler months. Carefully positioned ceiling fans circulate the air and improve ventilation throughout the home.

The luxurious angled shower enclosure includes a two-way glass window that provides views of the dam and outdoor area, while simultaneously guaranteeing privacy for the user. All bedrooms are located on the upper level, and showcase sweeping vistas of the Maroochy River and Mount Coolum. An open walkway connects each room, and helps to create an airy, well-ventilated environment. The upper level also includes a mezzanine office, which overlooks the communal living areas below. Featuring a number of luxurious inclusions, the main bedroom is a tranquil sanctuary that’s sure to impress. The large skylight above the bed provides relaxing sky views, while the indulgent freestanding bathtub is the perfect spot to unwind in peace. The home embraces a muted colour palette and a contemporary, industrial-inspired aesthetic. Featuring sophisticated elements like polished-concrete flooring, honeycomb-patterned feature walls, pendant lights and matte-black tapware, the house is simultaneously stylish and highly liveable.
