For this project, the clients commissioned Garth Chapman Queenslanders with the sensitive task of replacing the existing, multigenerational farm house with a new family home that maintained a sense of heritage. Garth Chapman Queenslanders created a custom-designed, Burdekin-series Queenslander that meets the exacting brief. The home’s exterior exudes classic style and charm, and perfectly harmonises with the rural location. A signature portico towers over the grand splayed staircase, which leads to the inviting front verandah. The staircase features a balustrade handrail and a charming gate. Showcasing multiple archways and intricate wall detailing by VJ Plus, the entryway is dramatic and full of charm. The space flows into the formal living room, which includes a stunning statement fireplace.

Featuring a range of Miele appliances, including a double oven, a double-door fridge and a 110cm concealed rangehood, as well as lustrous 40mm Caesarstone benchtops, the kitchen is simultaneously functional and stylish. The convenient butler’s pantry includes a sink, minor appliances and an additional Miele dishwasher, and provides direct access to the laundry. Doubling as a mudroom and secondary entryway, the laundry is the perfect spot to remove and store footwear, outerwear and wet clothing before entering the living areas. This multipurpose, highly efficient space fosters a neat and organised home. The main bedroom is a real parents’ retreat, complete with its own walk-in wardrobe and spacious en suite.
