“The brief was to design a new home on the block to accommodate significant flooding across the site. The most specific challenge was to design a family home on a site that is affected by three to four metres of Brisbane River flooding. Transitioning the lower level spaces from utilitarian and functional to the family home of the upper levels. Wall and floor venting to allow water to travel through the space without causing damage and destroying the home. Once the water recedes, the owners can rehabilitate within days.”
