“A new airport terminal was required to replace the existing shed. The terminal needed to be grounded by the local area and vales and present an iconic and recognisable façade. The unique building and angles were designed around the existing large mango tree. This tree is a place of local significance and JB Design wanted to make it a focal point of the entry and exit of the building. The airfield façade was based on the local birdlife, creating an iconic and unique entry to Kowanyama for visitors.”
