Tip Top Timber
Castella is excited to announce that it has launched its own exclusive range of timber kitchen and bathroom cabinetry hardware, which was designed and made in Tasmania. As design trends move toward incorporating warm natural materials, the range was created to meet the growing demand from interior designers for high-quality timber handles.
Castella’s new range dubbed Madera – which is Spanish for timber – was unveiled in July 2018 after seven months of research and development in consultation with expert interior designers. Made from Tasmanian oak or European beech, the handles feature subtle fixings that are available in a variety of finishes, including matte black, polished chrome, satin chrome, gold, and brushed gold.
“We really wanted to bring a home-grown range that is close to our heart into our collections,” says John Saunders, the managing director of Castella. “This is especially true of the use of our local premium-quality timber – Tasmanian oak. A versatile hardwood timber, its colouring ranges from straw to reddish brown, with varying cream and pink [hues]. It has excellent staining qualities and complements other timbers or finishes beautifully.”
