“The brief was to redevelop the existing run-down premises into a modern practice, creating a lasting impression on clients and quiet workspaces for the practice. Sound was the primary challenge – the site fronts a busy road, and the hearing consult rooms require nil external noise. Sound-insulated ceilings and walls, plus high-quality acoustic shop-front glazing was used throughout, along with soft acoustic wall tiles in the consult rooms. The built form reflects the surrounding residential character – soft commercial form with simple lines. The high entry ceilings create a big little space. The entry will leave a lasting impression, with warm timbers and green wall forming a welcoming space.”
